One day on set became a film that moves far beyond what we could capture in camera. For Lucid Motors × Hypebeast, I directed a studio shoot with a robotic motion-control rig and photographed a parallel stills series. That original material established the Gravity’s geometry, surfaces and light. I then used it to generate new views and transform existing footage, expanding the film without returning to set. Around 80% of the finished shots involve AI, spanning fully generated images and AI-altered live action. I led the direction and photography, then personally handled generation, VFX, editing and colour grading. Precise reflections, tactile materials and camera movement shaped around the car give the film its physical coherence. Published across Lucid and Hypebeast channels. PROCESS
The shoot gave me a controlled reference for the actual car: its proportions, finishes, reflections and response to light. Motion-control footage and separately photographed stills became the basis for new AI-generated angles and detail shots, alongside transformations of existing footage. I brought those sources together through compositing, edit and grade, with continuity of light and movement guiding the selection. The production value came from expanding a single day’s capture into a much broader visual sequence, while keeping the Gravity recognisable in every shot.
