ABOUT
Levitation takes the Rombaut × Puma sneaker out of ordinary space. The shoe hangs in hard light, stretches into ribbons and returns to an exact, sculptural form. I wanted its hollow structure and weightless silhouette to determine how the film moves. I conceived and directed the piece in collaboration with CGI artist Vitaly Kiaiev. Half of the shots are AI-generated and half are meticulously crafted CGI, with AI-generated HDRI environments extending the visual world. I developed the AI material, edited the film and completed the colour grade, shaping the sequence around the tension between recognisable product and unstable space. PROCESS
Half of the shots are AI-generated; half are meticulously constructed CGI, developed with Vitaly Kiaiev. AI-generated HDRI environments also surround the CG work. That combination let us move between exact product geometry and more unstable, distorted space. I directed the visual development, made the AI shots and brought the film together through editing and colour grading. Repeated angles, shifts in scale and the path of the light hold the different sources together.
