ABOUT
SALTO is a proof of concept for a family animated feature in development, following a horse and his rider as they attempt an extraordinary jump. An original My Friend Studio project, it explores trust, perseverance and the bond between its two protagonists. I led creative development, visual direction and AI-assisted production, working on character consistency, expressive performances and continuity across an action sequence. The short establishes the proposed feature’s visual style and emotional tone. Open to development partnerships and co-production.

PROCESS
I approached SALTO as an animated film production, starting with the dramatic arc, character design and visual references before moving into AI-generated motion. I established recurring references for the horse, rider, arena and obstacle, then developed the action through storyboards and short sequences using Higgsfield and Seedance. The main challenge was continuity: keeping the protagonists recognizable while maintaining the obstacle’s structure, the geography of the arena and the progression of the jump. I reviewed successive versions for performance, movement and visual consistency, refining or regenerating material where needed. Editorial decisions focused on building anticipation, making the action readable and preserving the emotional connection between horse and rider. My role combined creative development, visual direction, AI generation and production oversight. The resulting proof of concept helped define the visual approach and production challenges for a longer film.
