El Hotel de las Dunas is an AI-generated proof of concept for a vertical thriller and melodrama series set in Reñaca, on Chile’s Pacific coast. An original My Friend Studio project, the planned series comprises 40 episodes of approximately 90 seconds, combining emotional conflict, suspense and cliffhangers for mobile audiences. As creator and executive producer, I led story development, visual direction and AI-assisted production. The pilot explores photorealistic characters, continuity and dramatic storytelling in a 9:16 format. The series is in development. Open to production, distribution and strategic partnerships.

PROCESS
I developed this pilot by bringing my experience in television series and telenovelas into an AI-assisted vertical production workflow. The starting point was the story, its characters and the hotel’s visual identity. Character references, location designs and storyboards established a shared visual direction before video generation. The central challenge was translating dramatic intention into convincing images while maintaining recognizable characters and coherent spaces across shots. I reviewed generated material for performance, continuity and composition within the 9:16 frame, refining references and prompts where needed. The pilot serves as an initial test of visual style and production feasibility for a planned 40-episode series. It also helps identify what needs further development before scaling production, particularly character consistency, pacing and emotional performance. My role combined story development, creative direction and oversight of the AI-assisted production process.
