Xi Wang

Xi “Jake” Wang is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker, production leader, and AI artist working across film, animation, visual effects, and immersive media. A member of the Visual Effects Society (VES), he combines traditional filmmaking craft with emerging AI workflows to develop cinematic stories and distinctive worlds. He joined Amazon MGM Studios in 2026 as a VFX GenAI Specialist, exploring AI-assisted visual development and filmmaking pipelines. Previously, as Head of Production at Utopai Studios, he led multidisciplinary teams creating generative AI-driven content for feature films, television, animation, and music videos. He is also a Dreamina Signature Partner. His earlier VFX work at studios including Digital Domain spans productions such as Dune: Part Two, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Last of Us, and The Electric State. Alongside his studio work, Wang develops independent films and immersive projects spanning VR, AR, projection mapping, and experimental animation. His work has been presented at SIGGRAPH and showcased at the Telluride Film Festival, LA Shorts International Film Festival, Odense International Film Festival, and Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia.
