ABOUT
An AI-assisted historical fantasy series blending African history, ancestral memory, mythology, and cinematic storytelling. A present-day protagonist is drawn into the events surrounding the 1803 Igbo Landing revolt, where the historical and the spiritual converge through water and Mami Wata. I created the series from research and scripting through visual development, narration, editing, and final delivery, using Midjourney for visual development, Kling AI for motion, and Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition for editorial and sound.

PROCESS
I began with historical research, scripting, and storyboarding, using the 1803 Igbo Landing revolt as the historical foundation while developing a fictional present-day narrative around memory, ancestry, and Mami Wata. From there, I broke the story into visual beats and designed the imagery around character, period, environment, symbolism, and emotional progression. I developed the visual world in Midjourney, iterating on characters, costumes, locations, lighting, composition, and recurring visual motifs to keep the film coherent across historical, contemporary, and mythic spaces. I rejected generations that broke character or cultural continuity, weakened the intended emotion, or looked striking without actually advancing the story. Selected frames were then brought into Kling AI for motion, with movement and camera behavior shaped to support the pacing and tone of each sequence. I assembled the final film in Adobe Premiere Pro, where the generated material became a directed sequence rather than a collection of individual AI shots. I also performed the narration and built the soundscape in Adobe Audition, layering voice, music, environmental sound, and transitions to connect the historical and supernatural elements into one continuous experience. Throughout the process, the technology followed the story—not the other way around. The goal was to use generative tools to create a cinematic interpretation of African history and mythology while preserving emotional clarity, cultural specificity, and a consistent visual world.
