The music video for “Levitation” is a collaboration between myself and Aaron Hibell and Felsmann + Tiley. Using imagery, animation, and post-production, I built a surreal, monochrome world that moves from dark, empty spaces toward light. Floating figures and shifting landscapes follow the track’s gradual rise, leaving the story open to interpretation.

PROCESS
The video will attempt to capture the emotional journey of Levitation, focusing on suggestive visuals that explore transcendence, weightlessness, and a gradual crescendo of energy. The visual style of the music video will combine surreal minimalism with nostalgic influences from 90s and early 2000s trance music aesthetics, creating a unique and immersive experience. Expansive, empty nature landscapes layered with subtle textures will visualize an infinite, dreamlike space, evoking a sense of exploration and transcendence. Figures or objects rendered with deliberate motion blur will suggest movement between realms or dimensions, enhancing the surreal and otherworldly tone. Abstract representations of levitation will feature prominently, with bodies or objects suspended mid-air, drifting upward, or dissolving into light, echoing themes of ascension and elation. As the music builds, the visuals will transition from dim, muted tones to bright, cascading light forms, mirroring the song’s emotional crescendo. Obscured and fragmented human silhouettes will appear walking, floating, or emerging within surreal settings, maintaining an emotional resonance while allowing for interpretive storytelling. Additionally, nostalgic elements inspired by 90s and early 2000s trance visuals, such as morphing objects, spiky mineral formations, and fluid mechanics, will be woven throughout, evoking a retro-futuristic vibe that complements the modern surreal minimalism of the project.
