ABOUT
Pigman is a comedy short film inspired by a comic created by Esteban Diba’s father in 1984. Set in a stylized city, the story follows a pig superhero on a chaotic mission to find a runaway pig that has escaped and disappeared across the city. The project was developed as a modern 3D animated short, combining AI-driven image-to-video workflows with 3D scene creation to achieve stronger control over movement, staging and camera direction. Produced by Uveox, Pigman explores how generative AI can be integrated into a more structured animation pipeline to create a playful, cinematic and visually consistent final film.

PROCESS
Pigman was created through a hybrid workflow combining 3D animation techniques with generative AI. While much of the final aesthetic was achieved through image-to-video generation, a key part of the process was building scenes in Blender first in order to guide the AI more precisely. This allowed us to define character blocking, camera movement, scene composition and overall motion before using AI to render the final look. By creating the scenes in 3D first, we gained much more control than a purely generative workflow would normally allow. This helped us shape the pacing, action and comedy of the short while maintaining a coherent visual language throughout the film. The project is based on an original comic created in 1984, reimagined as a contemporary animated short with a modern 3D style. Directed by Esteban Diba. Produced by Uveox.
