At first glance, DREAM TEAM is a story about a cheerful crew and a string of fantastic adventures. But is it really that simple? Don't be too quick. The film grew out of a question I keep coming back to: how far can the illusory carry a person, and why does a daydream sometimes become a refuge? A refuge is shelter. It is also a place you might not leave. I wanted both to stay true at once, so the audience only realizes which one they've been watching at the very end. Everything was made with generative tools, but the work went into what doesn't come out of a model on its own: continuity, performance, the rhythm of a cut. The tools generate shots. The film had to be directed. A 4-minute auteur short, from script to score.

PROCESS
I started by building the world, the characters and the locations as still images, giving myself freedom to experiment with their look before animating anything. Once the world and the cast were set, I moved through the story shot by shot. In total there were more than 1,000 generations: over 80% were image variations, only around 200 were video, and about a quarter of those made it into the final cut. When the cut was locked, I composed the score to it.
