ABOUT
THE MOMENT is a black-and-white cinematic short film about memory, longing, and the traces of a love that remains after a relationship ends. We do not remember the past as a complete story. What remains are fragments — a lingering gaze, a familiar touch, a face once loved, and moments of intimacy that refuse to disappear. Moving between reality and fragmented memory, the film follows a man revisiting the emotional traces of a lost relationship. Through images, movement, space, and music rather than dialogue, THE MOMENT explores what remains when love is gone. Created with generative AI as a medium for cinematic expression.

PROCESS
THE MOMENT was created through an AI-assisted filmmaking process, with a central focus on visualizing emotion through cinematic montage rather than conventional narrative storytelling. The film was conceived as a collection of fragmented memories — fleeting glances, gestures, intimate moments, and spaces that linger after a relationship has ended. Rather than constructing a linear narrative, I focused on how these individual images could be selected, juxtaposed, and arranged to evoke an emotional experience through the montage itself. The production combined AI-generated imagery and video sequences with a carefully developed visual language inspired by black-and-white cinema. Particular attention was given to character consistency, composition, lighting, movement, and the emotional quality of each shot. In the editing process, the relationship between images became the primary storytelling device. I explored how pacing, transitions, visual contrasts, and music could transform independently generated sequences into a continuous emotional experience. The goal was not simply to illustrate a story, but to allow emotion to emerge from the rhythm and interaction of images — making the montage itself the emotional language of the film.
