PROCESS
We started with a basic test: which model could take a knife through vegetables, fruit and salami in a way that read as a real cut. Two things had to hold at once. The piece had to separate cleanly, and the far side of that piece had to sit correctly in the reflection along the blade. Until both of those were believable, we did not move on. We built the film around three users in three segments, each paired with the products in their own kitchen, and turned what happens in each kitchen into a storyboard. From there it ran exactly like a conventional production. Casting went to the client as a set of options, and wardrobe alternatives for the approved cast went next. Once they locked the characters, we started the art direction on the locations. Generated the key moments/frames first, scene by scene, then alt angles and the close-ups. Once the scenes were locked, we made the music, and only then moved into video generation. In total we generated 3,200 images, including character and set work, and 600 videos across different takes of 100 scenes. 30 of those shots made it into the different versions of the final cut. The project ran across 10 workflow boards with hundreds of connections and was finished in edit, sound and color grade.
