ABOUT
Smart glasses can record the people around them. Anti-Meta imagines the opposite product: glasses that give the person being filmed control over how they appear. Pixelation, blur, an avatar or complete invisibility become selectable features in a polished consumer-tech launch. The ad starts with the unease of being watched and promises a reassuring solution, before revealing the familiar catch: privacy is now a subscription, with extra control reserved for a premium tier. A fictional product and satirical campaign about surveillance, consent and the business of selling our rights back to us. Concept, product world and final film by John-Ivar Eidsmo.

PROCESS
I approached Anti-Meta as a real product launch: a recognisable frame design, close-up material shots, touch controls, a feature interface and a subscription offer. The white glasses had to remain consistent across product shots and scenes on the street, while the privacy effects had to be immediately understandable. The film combines generated character footage and product shots with interface graphics, typography, editing and sound in VEGAS Pro. Its structure follows a familiar technology ad: introduce a problem, demonstrate an elegant solution, then reveal the commercial terms. The monthly price and premium features are part of the satire.
