PROCESS
I story-boarded the opening dream sequence first, shot-for-shot: 33 panels, locked before a single frame was generated. If the opening sequence didn't work on paper, nothing downstream would either. I spent the longest stretch of this project as production designer: the full cast, every set, the props and the wardrobe, all checked against mid-nineties research so nothing reads as costume, and all built to hold across a whole season, not just the pilot. I graded against a muted, warm Super 16mm look, with camera language inspired by It Follows and The Shining. Every shot went through Seedance in small batches, then got cut down to the one take that held. Most of what came out of the machine never reached the edit; the harvesting, not the prompting, is the actual job.
