ABOUT
Watching and cheering for robots fighting in a tournament is no longer something from the distant future. Not long ago, China actually held a humanoid robot fighting tournament. Their movements are still far from perfect, but I believe that one day, robots could deliver fights that are far more dynamic and intense than anything humans can offer. Then I had a thought. What if, in the future, robots refused to fight each other? And what if they decided to change their targets from other robots to humans? What kind of chaos would unfold? That was the idea that inspired this video. Would you want to watch a robot fighting tournament like this?

PROCESS
To create contrasting robot designs, I experimented with various concepts using Seedream 5.0 Pro, eventually settling on red and blue robots with opposing vertical and horizontal face designs. The most time-consuming parts were developing the initial robot designs, designing the UFC-style arena, and determining how many people should be in the audience. From there, I used Seedance 2,0 Fast and Mini to experiment with the shot list and optimize each sequence. I carefully planned where and how the robots would strike, how they would fall, and even how many steps they would stagger after being hit. Finally, I color graded the footage in DaVinci Resolve and added chromatic aberration to give the final visuals a more surreal, otherworldly feel.
