ABOUT

"Red Rose on the Beach" is a country ballad inspired by the memory of a dear friend who passed away from cancer. After undergoing a hip replacement and surviving quadruple bypass surgery, I found myself reflecting on what truly matters: health, love, family, friendship, and the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others. My dear friend Andrea was a dedicated social worker who spent her career serving others. While I was rebuilding my career after technology displaced me from the printing industry, Andrea fell ill with cancer and passed away before our friendship could become something more. Created with the assistance of artificial intelligence, this song transforms a deeply personal memory into a story of love, loss, gratitude, and appreciation for the people in our lives. While AI assisted in the creative process, the emotions and experiences behind the song are profoundly human. From October 16, 2026 through March 16, 2027, 100 percent of the net proceeds from the country version of "Red Rose on the Beach" will be donated to the American Heart Association. Released by Jenny AI Radio and Covenantal Media AI PBC.

PROCESS

This project began with a personal story rather than a technical experiment. The song was inspired by the memory of a dear friend who passed away from cancer and by my own reflections after undergoing a hip replacement and quadruple bypass surgery. The creative goal was to translate themes of love, loss, gratitude, and remembrance into a cinematic visual experience. I started by identifying key emotional moments within the lyrics and developing visual concepts that reflected the song's mood. Multiple image and video generations were created to explore different environments, lighting conditions, camera movements, and symbolic imagery associated with memory, longing, and hope. Generated sequences were evaluated for emotional impact, visual consistency, realism, and alignment with the narrative. Clips containing visual artifacts, distracting elements, unrealistic motion, or imagery that conflicted with the song's tone were discarded. The strongest scenes were selected and assembled to support the emotional progression of the music. Rather than simply illustrating the lyrics, the goal was to create a visual companion piece that would allow viewers to experience the story through atmosphere, imagery, and feeling. Created by Mark W. Gaffney for Jenny AI Radio and Covenantal Media AI PBC.
