ABOUT
That Thursday is a quiet cinematic meditation on a single gesture — a hand reaching toward another. Told through restrained black-and-white imagery and a reflective voice-over, the film explores the fragile moment where love begins. Not through grand declarations, but through small, almost invisible acts. A flower offered. A hand extended. A pause before touch. Set in a cold, minimalist atmosphere, the film avoids spectacle and sentimentality. Instead, it lingers in silence, light, and space — allowing the viewer to recognize their own memories within the frame. This is not a film about love stories. It is about the single gesture that starts them — and whether that alone is enough.

PROCESS
It started as a series of black-and-white documentary photographs: portraits of ordinary people lit like Caravaggio, a single hard source falling out of deep shadow. Only later did they start asking for movement, and the stills slowly turned into a film. The stills were built in Nano Banana Pro and Seedream 5.0 and graded against one rule: reportage, not glamour. Real faces, real fabric, nothing retouched. Animation was mainly in Seedance 2.5, with Kling 3.0 for some shots. The movement is minimal: a glance, a breath, a hand. The camera barely moves, because the light does the work. The narration is bilingual and was written last, to the images rather than the other way round. Most drafts went in the bin for saying too much. Music: Suno. Voice: ElevenLabs. I generated about 200 stills and 70 video takes and kept 30. It was made for the Curious Refuge AI Feel Good Film Contest 2026.
