ABOUT
KIRO is a cinematic short film directed by Esteban Diba, combining live-action filmmaking with generative AI. The project explores a hybrid production workflow where actors, physical locations, cinematography, visual effects and generative tools are integrated into a single filmmaking process. Created through Uveox, KIRO was developed as a complete film production, from creative direction and shooting to AI production, editing, sound and post-production. Selected as a Top 50 project at the FutureVision XPRIZE.

PROCESS
KIRO was built as a hybrid live-action and AI production from the beginning. We shot the actors and practical material on location in Spain, then integrated generative workflows into the visual development, VFX and post-production process. The goal was to keep the language of traditional filmmaking intact: directing performances, designing shots, controlling continuity, editing for story and treating AI as another production tool rather than the final product itself. Our workflow combined live-action footage, generative video, image-based development, compositing, editing, sound design and final post-production. One of the main challenges was maintaining visual consistency across shots while preserving the performances and cinematic language established during the shoot. The project was directed by Esteban Diba and produced through Uveox.
