ABOUT
In partnership with Google Flow Sessions artist residency (Cohort 4), 2ndskin is an experimental dance narrative film using bespoke characters and environments all generated within the Google Flow ecosystem.

PROCESS
I began by building a custom storyboarding tool in Flow which would take in the story context and basic shotlist and automatically populate it with image generation blocks for each shot powered by the Nano Banana Model. After I was happy with the initial story outline, I hunted for style and angle references for each shot, and created the characters to be used in the film. Then I regenerated each starting frame using my reference images and characters, re-assembled the storyboard and began to generate the actual videos from each starting frame. I probably culled 50% of the generated footage, about 100 or so clips, to use in the final product. Some of the clips with the dancers, including the scene where the characters lean on each other's backs and look up, was actual live footage I shot with my actors that was re-skinned to my AI environment and characters using Google's Omni model.
