ABOUT
Empty Maps is an audio-visual project built around a 13-track piano record. At its centre is a 180g vinyl, a keystone object that carries both the music and the story. The album explores themes of connection, isolation, and family lineage, using piano as a way to communicate when language fell short. Each track is a chapter in a broader narrative, tracing a personal shift from one version of self to another. This extends into the visual design: a cover made from layered family artifacts, scanned documents, and personal fragments arranged in chaotic form, contrasted by an insert that brings those same elements into quiet alignment. Runway ML was used to stitch together and breathe life into the still imagery, extending the visual language into motion. Together, the sound and visuals create a dialogue between past and present, disorder and clarity, quietly marking a sense of before and after.

PROCESS
Runway ML was used to give subtle life to old family photographs, documents and personal relics. Each image was prompted around restrained movement, natural light, texture and age, preserving the imperfections of the source material while introducing small gestures of motion. The aim was to keep the imagery intimate, nostalgic and slightly unsettled, sitting somewhere between photograph, memory and dream.
