PROCESS
Made this entirely on Sora 2's free tier — no budget for this one. Started by writing the story, then worked out the full script with ChatGPT. For characters: I needed a realistic, consistent human, so I used Sora 2's Cameo feature with a user-shared likeness. For the robot and cat, I generated still references in Reve AI, turned those into video references in Grok, then uploaded them to Sora 2 as custom Characters (same system as Cameo, but for generated figures). With the script and characters ready, I generated scenes one by one, prompting Sora 2 with the relevant character references. Locations were all text-to-video. The hardest part was the coffee thermos. Sora 2 in 2025 still struggled with object consistency from image references — it would change the thermos design between shots. I didn't solve it perfectly everywhere. Generated about 40 clips total, kept around 10 for the final cut. Minimal upscaling (again, free tier).
