ABOUT
The first episode of an experimental AI-made micro-series about Sofia and her father, Tomás. Years after he filled her childhood with imaginary worlds and bedtime stories, an elderly Tomás asks his grown daughter to tell him one. As Sofia begins with “Once upon a time…”, the world they created together comes alive again, and it remembers them.

PROCESS
I began with the story and performances before generating any final imagery. The episode was first broken down into individual dramatic beats, then into shots, camera positions and character actions. Because the story moves between Sofia and her father Tomás at different ages, character continuity was especially important. I created dedicated character reference sheets for each version of them and used those throughout production to keep faces, wardrobe and visual identity consistent. Each shot went through several iterations. I rejected generations when performance, eyelines, body movement, framing or character identity did not support the scene, even when the image itself looked good. Camera movement and pacing were designed around the emotional rhythm of the dialogue rather than around what the AI could generate most easily. The selected shots were then edited together, refined for continuity and timing, and finished with sound, music and colour work. The goal was to use AI as part of a filmmaking process, while keeping character, emotion and storytelling at the centre.
