PROCESS
Approximately 60 keyframes were developed across the five-minute film. After the script was locked, the story was divided into chapters, scenes, and individual shots, with each sequence designed through a combination of keyframes, character references, and additional style frames for transitional and B-roll imagery. An initial design phase established the film’s visual language and environments, drawing directly from the world described in The Invention of Morel. The machine at the center of the story went through its own design exploration, influenced by Raymond Loewy and Streamline Moderne industrial design. Detailed character sheets were developed for the Fugitive - Luis de Palencia, Faustine, and Morel to maintain identity and continuity throughout the film. Video generation was developed through node-based workflows across Runway and Magnific. The production evolved alongside rapidly changing frontier video models, with different models incorporated as the film progressed. My own voice was sampled and used to develop the Fugitive’s final voice performance in ElevenLabs. The original score was created with Suno, with additional voice and sound work developed in ElevenLabs. Editing, compositing, and finishing were completed in After Effects.
