Born from the question of what lies beyond death and the impact of my father’s lung cancer diagnosis, SOPRO (BLOW) is an experimental film that offers a sensory experience through a nonlinear narrative. The film explores an unseen realm, a limbo between worlds. In this symbolic territory, corals and breathing mists give form to what cannot be spoken. As time unravels, memories whisper. Air becomes more than substance: it becomes lung, passage, presence. Images created with Midjourney, Krea and Magnific; animated with Runway, Kling and Luma. Music created with Suno. PROCESS
SOPRO began with a personal archive of dreams: coral forests, dissolving bodies and landscapes suspended between matter and breath. I used ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini to organize these notes and research into a nonlinear sensory script, then built a moodboard defining the film’s palette, textures and atmosphere. I generated roughly 4,000 exploratory images in Midjourney and Krea, selecting around 300 to form a visual storyboard. These were refined in Krea and finished in Magnific. Visual continuity required careful matching, frame by frame, with repeated adjustments to color, texture and atmosphere. I tested the selected frames across Runway, Kling and Luma, comparing movement, texture retention and atmospheric consistency before choosing the strongest interpretation for each shot. Runway contributed flowing mist and organic transitions; Kling supported character movement and transformations; Luma added depth and spatial movement. The selection process favored results that sustained the film’s sensory coherence. There was no separate color-grading pass in post-production. The palette was established during image creation, using the moodboard and consistent cinematic references in the prompts to guide each frame. I edited in CapCut around a breathing rhythm: expansion, suspension and contraction. Music and sound were developed with Suno and CapCut, layering breath, wind and low-frequency resonances. The process took approximately two and a half months, with each stage guided by the emotional rhythm of the film.
