ABOUT
An 89-second AI-animated short film exploring the value of things that serve no practical purpose. THE STORY Fourteen years from now, food production is fully automated. An agricultural robot is programmed to remove plants that aren't food crops. One day, a young girl asks the robot to spare a small sprout because it reminds her of a flower her late mother loved. When it finally blooms, it looks nothing like the flower she remembers. Yet their time together has given it a meaning of its own. CREATIVE VISION In a future driven by efficiency and logic, this film explores the emotional value of memory, attachment, and seemingly useless things. CREATIVE APPROACH I developed the story, visual direction, and final edit using an AI-assisted production workflow coordinated through Claude Code. To maintain visual consistency, I combined fixed character designs, 3D environments created with World Labs Marble, and custom Three.js previsualization. AI-generated animation was refined to preserve expressive performances and the warmth of hand-drawn aesthetics.

PROCESS
I directed this film from concept to final edit, using Claude Code to coordinate the AI production workflow. The biggest challenge was maintaining visual and spatial consistency across AI-generated animation. I first established fixed designs for the girl, robot, and two flowers, creating multi-angle reference sheets to keep their appearances consistent. I then built a 3D farm environment using World Labs Marble and developed a custom Three.js previsualization tool to plan camera angles, character placement, and object scale across shots. Production records show 113 generated key visuals. I used the selected designs and compositions to create start and end frames, then animated the shots with Seedance 2.0 Mini and 2.5. Visual inconsistencies were corrected using Seedance's editing capabilities and Runway Aleph 2.0, followed by Topaz upscaling. After reviewing music and sound-effect licensing, I replaced the original audio assets with new music from Suno AI and sound effects from Adobe Firefly. Finally, I used Claude Code to generate and update the DaVinci Resolve timeline, coordinating shot timing, dialogue, subtitles, and sound. My focus was not simply generating individual clips, but building a controlled production workflow that could maintain narrative, visual, and emotional continuity throughout the film.
